DETAILS:
On Thursday December, 1st, Lost in Frenchlation is introducing the charming and typically Parisian cinema Le Brady to the international community of Paris with our screening of French director Katell Quillévéré’s "sublimely compassionate, heart-crushing" film, 'Réparer les Vivants' ('Heal the Living')!
We've made a couple of huge changes to the usual programme for this screening:
- For the first time ever, and once a month in the future (alongside our Friday Studio 28 screenings), Lost in Frenchlation will be hosting this event on a Thursday, with the screening starting at 7pm and drinks following the film. We've secured happy hour prices for our audience at bar Chez les Artistes (just a 3 minute walk from Le Brady) after the film until the bar shuts - as long as you show your cinema ticket, you will benefit their Happy Hour prices !
- TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY! ( Booking, click here )
'It all starts at daybreak, three young surfers on the raging seas. A few hours later, on the way home, an accident occurs. Now entirely hooked up to life-support in a hospital in Le Havre, Simon’s existence is little more than an illusion. Meanwhile, in Paris, a woman awaits the organ transplant that will give her a new lease on life.'
- Official synopsis
'What sounds like fodder for a routinely gripping episode of “ER” is complicated with rare depths of personal and sensual detail... this spidering ensemble piece — adapted from Maylis de Kerangal’s internationally acclaimed 2014 novel — boasts beautifully pitched performances from a handpicked cast that includes Tahar Rahim and Emmanuelle Seigner... But it's Quillévéré’s soaring visual and sonic acumen (with an assist from composer Alexandre Desplat, here in matchless form) that suffuses a potentially familiar hospital weeper with true grace.'
- Guy Lodge, Variety
Join us for our first screening at cinema Le Brady to experience the amazingly humanist 'Réparer les Vivants' with English subtitles in true Parisian style - at the cinema!
