“Identify and promote the diversity of ‘made in France’ entrepreneurship”: this is the challenge of the new edition of this contest that chose to assess the industrial and technologic creativity by travelling in January and February to eight French cities (Lille, Strasburg, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes and Paris).

Six major competition categories

La Tribune precisely underlines on its website that the contest lets participants (note that registrations are still open) to participate in one of the six categories that “represent the biggest challenges of the 21st century”. The aim of such challenges is to stand out in various fields, such as:

- industry of the future, for companies creating “a new way to organise means of production, to make factories smart;

- environment and energy, for companies in the fields of environment, sustainable development and energy;

- health, for companies dedicated to health and creating “new solutions for the medicine of tomorrow”;

- use innovations, for platforms, new economic models, new services;

- exploitation of the treasure trove of data, for companies with “strong technological added value that innovate from data”.

A last category is to be added to these five fields: the Start category, which is exclusively for “rising projects” in any field, whether they are at design stage or creation stage.

Participation criteria

To run for the “10 000 Startups pour changer le monde” Prize, participants must comply with various criteria. Indeed, you must be an entrepreneur over 18 years old and be the director of a company headquartered in France. In addition, such company must have been created since less than a year and make at least 100k euros of turnover.

This does not concern the Start category, which allows creators of an innovative project without having created a company to run in the competition by selecting this category.

Massive communication budget for the winning

The call for applications is open until January 15, 2021, and regional selection will occur in February, followed with a vote phase in March. A “Grand Oral” (standing presentation) for the presentation, and an award ceremony are scheduled in late March in Paris.

The prize granted to the best projects mostly takes the form of a very large communication budget, since winners will primarily win a significant sum of money to invest in the purchasing of advertising space. The advertising campaign includes good media coverage, premium contact with boards and meetings with economic partners.
