CIDJ summer jobs operation
The CIDJ, “Centre d’information et de documentation jeunesse” (Information and Documentation Centre for Youth), organises two major events for student and non-student young people: the “Opération jobs d'été” (summer jobs operation), deployed all over France with the jobs-ete.com website and regional meeting sessions, and the Forum du CIDJ, held on 15 April, a forum providing access to thousands of job offers in the Île-de-France region, meetings with recruiters and tips for job seeking.
The CIDJ, an association created by the French government with the commitment of the Ministry of Education and Youth, aims at “providing information about all topics of interest of young people! ”. Whether it’s career guidance (occupations, studies, internships in companies, jobs) or everyday life (scholarship grants, student accommodation, language study trips, business creation, health), the CIDJ and its network, the Réseau d’information jeunesse (Youth Information Network), are on hand to welcome young people and students at more than 1,300 centres throughout France. The Infos Jeunes network is open to everyone, and access is “free of charge, regardless of age, situation or residence”.
All info on the dedicated website
“Preparing yourself, planning ahead and meeting companies are the keys to finding a summer job” and “to land a job, you need to prepare your application appropriately”. These tips are the first advice from the CIDJ, which is inviting all young people to visit its dedicated jobs-ete.com website (16 million visitors in 2024) to find all the key information. Most of the information is available in videos or downloadable guides, published region by region, which provide a wealth of information on what’s on offer locally, particularly in terms of employment.
From March to June, the jobs-ete.com website also offers targeted advice, as well as lists of companies that are recruiting and even job offers immediately available. The first regional “Forums Jobs d'été”, regional job fairs, have already been announced and a full agenda is available using a search engine based on dates and locations. In addition, “Info Jeunes professionals” are available to help students throughout France with their job search.
A major forum on 15 April 2025
Among all the regional Summer Jobs forums, the CIDJ’s “Grand Forum”, held on 15 April 2025 at the headquarters of the Ile-de-France Region in Saint-Ouen, in the close suburbs of Paris, has been the meeting point for job seekers and job providers! The CIDJ declared that it was “the perfect place to land a job”.
The 32nd “Forum Jobs d’été” will be offering thousands of job offers in the Paris Region (but not only) for the summer period, from June to September, and available to students as soon as they finish their exams.
Thousands of jobs on offer from around thirty partner companies that cover all sectors: hospitality, hotels and restaurants, events management, sales, tourism, entertainment, agriculture, personal services, etc. Advisers (including representatives from France Travail) will be on hand, and there will even a workshop to learn how to design your resume.
Admission is free, but registration is required (on the event page of the national jobs-ete.com website).
