VIGNOBLES PONTY/PONTY WINERY
The Ponty family has been making handcrafted wine in Bordeaux since 1905. Specializing in Merlot, and Ponty wines came to the mainland in 2012 due to the fifth generation owner, Helene Ponty. After 7 years of working in China, now they exports eight handcrafted wines from a small village in Fronsac to provinces all over China.
Helene, the 33-years-old daughter of current winemaker Michel Ponty just took over the winery on September 2019. She initially had little to no interest in joining the family business, and even her family wasn't clinking glasses in celebration right away. But it was her business education in MIT inspired her to use her winery upbringing and business education to bring French wine culture to Asia. And Now, she manages all commercial, marketing and strategic aspects for her family winery, with a particular focus on the Asia market.
